Here’s another installment of random crap i find interesting.
First this week is this cool ‘poster’. It’s basically a single midi control which you can make pretty easily and cheaply but i thought this was a good use of the basic technology. I own a couple drum triggers myself and it’s pretty fun exploring what one can do with them.
Now, I don’t use resolume but I do use modul8 and quartz, this kinda makes me want to use resolume though. Although I’m sure with some python scripting I could build a module in M8 that could control some functions of my quartz files like this.
Next, and speaking of vj tools, (although this is less a tool and more a toy is).
This is from Nick Briz’s website
Mix Master Mickey is a creative piracy game and media literacy tool for kids of all ages. It lets you easily rip videos from the internet to use as source footage to remix/cut-up/sample/play with in real-time. It’s free software I made with art by Eric Garcia. You can download Mix Master Mickey along with the source code above. Watch the video bellow for more info.
*NOTE: Mix Master Mickey needs to run from your Applications folder to work properly.
This same cat made an lengthy video on what glitching is and how one can glitch things (videos, pictures, etc).
Sometimes people are retarded and they make stuff only for PC, well these new plugins from it doesn’t matter cause they’re only for PC can make your laptop go…
Next time we’ll talk more about quartz and i’ll tell you about smart people who post tutorials on the web so you can learn new things from home. Happy internetz.
